The Cricklands Festival will be a week of all things carriage driving - coaching and training, clinics on hoof and foot with the aim to help and encourage drivers and navigators of all abilities to achieve their own personal potential.
The Festival will open on Tuesday prior to The Certius Championships.
GB POD Training Group will once again be running a programme of training sessions throughout the week, covering the three phases of competition in preparation for the weekend.
Tuesday arrival with individual assessment, flatwork sessions and harness and safety checks. Late afternoon a cones demonstration/masterclass and an opportunity for all to walk the cones course. Before dinner there will be a video and short talk regarding the cones competition including relevant rules.
Wednesday cones training with first suppling exercises in pairs followed by driving the cones course several times with feedback. Late afternoon an obstacle demonstration/masterclass including navigator training and an opportunity for all to walk the four obstacles. Before dinner there will be a short talk regarding the obstacles including the relevant rules.
Thursday obstacle training again suppling exercises for obstacles and then a chance to drive the obstacles and try different routes. Late afternoon a Compulsory Figures demonstration, both Novice and Open and an arena walk. And before dinner a talk regarding Compulsory Figures including relevant rules with input from the Head Judge.
Friday 'warm up' help then rehearsal of Compulsory Figures test with feedback. Late afternoon a welcome reception and competitor briefing with Compulsory Figures Q&A from the Head Judge.
The GB POD Training Group will offer support throughout the Championship weekend.

The full package includes stabling. Contact Julie for prices for later arrivals. Pre-booked supper available at Broomies Bar throughout the week. Hot showers. Lodges available to book through The David Broome Event Centre website.
Friday will be arrival day for those attending the Championships. The Magic Arena will be available for familiarisation and practise or training with coaches. Two 30m x 60m arenas for Compulsory Figures will be available and there will be areas with cones and obstacles. The Ballen Ring will also have cones courses and Wentwood and Lakeside Rings will be available for schooling.
Saturday and Sunday will be The Certius Championship competition days.
